MAURITIUS TRIP: DINAROBIN BEACHCOMBER LE MORNE + REVIEW
Coucou, c’est Jess.
In this post, I am taking you along on my most exclusive hotel review of Dinarobin Beachcomber, Le Morne, Mauritius. This is the last one of my honeymoon series. If you want to check out my previous posts, you can click on the links you will find throughout the post and the blog. Enjoy!
From Ile Aux Cerfs, we drove from the South West of Mauritius Island to Le Morne, it was a 2h15m drive, but we didn’t mind because it has a very nice landscape on the way with lots of sugar cane plantations and different mountains as a backdrop. Le Morne was our final destination where one of the Beachcomber hotels is situated, the Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, and next to it the Paradis Beachcomber.
About Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa
Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa is set at the foot of the 556-meter high Le Morne Brabant mountain surrounded by palm trees in 20 acres of tropical gardens. Located on the most scenic shoreline in Mauritius with the spectacular Le Morne mountain acting as a dramatic backdrop. The exclusive resort has 172 suites, four restaurants, a bar, and six swimming pools. With the neighboring Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, at 5 minutes, the guests also have access to the restaurants and facilities of Beachcomber Paradis as well as access to the golf course, tennis courts, a kitesurfing school, and extensive water sports activities. There is a shuttle service between the Paradis and the Dinarobin every 15 minutes.
THE ROOM AND AMENITIES
We booked the Junior Suite for 4 nights and 5 days. The room was a spacious yet intimate suite with a private terrace that faces the sea and offers a beautiful view of the hotel’s tropical gardens and the swimming pool. They offer a honeymoon package for those who are married validly one year from the wedding date. We booked for half board (breakfast & dinner included), but since we avail the honeymoon package, we were upgraded to full board (breakfast, lunch & dinner).
The suites are situated in double story houses in six crescent-shaped units of which five have their own pool. Crescents 2-6 have a pool except the crescent number 1, however, it is nearby to the main pool (you can refer the attached map above for more details). Avoid getting a suite on the crescent 3, you don’t see much of a view on the beach because of the restaurant in front. So, we asked to change our room on our second day, and we got the suite at the crescent 4, which was way better with beach view by the balcony, and just a few steps to the pool and the beach.
They have Zen Suites- for adults only which are located in the crescent 6 area with a private pool and beach and are perfect for honeymooners and couples. We did not take this option as most of our days, we were out for some activities. If you are wondering about things to do in Le Morne, you can check my separate blog post. The Villas at the far end of the resort area, where they offer a private pool, lots of luxury, and space.
The main pool is gigantic with a stunning view of the ocean and the mountain. However, it’s an old-style, and it needs a major renovation. Be careful, some tiles under the water are broken. You can find more comments in the review section below about Dinarobin Beachcomber, Le Morne.
The Restaurants & Bar In terms of dining, we had a full board package, we dined at six restaurants out of eight both Dinarobin & Paradis. Please note that for the dinner, you must have a booking through at hotel concierge except for the buffet restaurants. Evening dress code for men, long pants/trousers, and closed shoes are a must.
Most of the time, we ate at the Paradis Resort, they have better options for the restaurants compared to Dinarobin Resort.
SPA- one of my favorite spots in this resort. They have an exclusive pool, sauna, hammam, and gym, there is a variety of wellness and treatments and also a yoga class.
SERVICE
In general, Dinarobin Beachcomber did not meet our expectations in so many ways. They are one of the most expensive hotels in Le Morne, but the service and the facilities are not in accordance with the price. The service is not for a 5-star hotel as they claimed such as; I never saw a 5-star hotel where you need to take your own towel to your sunbed or to do the activities like snorkeling no towels and water being provided. When we arrived no valet person was there to welcome us right away and to help our things unload from the car. Then, you see some guests drying off their towels at their balcony.
They have very high ratings and reviews online (not sure how real those reviews are), which made us book this hotel. If you are a frequent traveler and used to 5-star service, then you better think twice. Though the location of this resort is unique! The view of Le Morne Mountain is breathtaking. Oh and random fact: The beach has dead corals that can hurt you!
Le Paradis Beachcomber Resort
As mentioned before, if you are a guest of Dinarobin you can access both resorts, a 5-minute ride away. It’s like you went on a vacation to two different resorts at the same time. We prefer Paradis compared to Dinarobin, we spent most of the time there than in our hotel. The beach is better with fine sand, secluded, and also they have a better selection of restaurants.
On a positive note, overall we enjoyed our vacation, grateful, and blessed for all the opportunities we had.

- Not safe to walk barefoot by the beach as there are dead corals.
