wearing what you feel good

Every single day is an opportunity for me to embrace my individuality and reflect on my personality through my style. I dress up to boost my confidence and I always listen to my mood and follow how I feel. I wear what makes me feel good- whether it is a certain colour, style of clothing or an item that is of particular meaning. Wearing what you feel good is like “when you look good, you feel good”!

“To me, clothing is a form of self-expression. There are hints about who you are in what you wear.” -Marc Jacobs.

It took me many years to start figuring out what type of clothes made me good and confident. As I get older, I am certain about what type of clothes and style works best for me. I opt for elegance- elegant clothes that are simple, classic, well-fitted and easy to mix and match. Classic pieces that never go out of style. They are the foundation pieces that I can use to build my outfit on. But don’t get me wrong, I do still follow some of the trends- it’s kind of hard not to but, I’m definitely a lot more aware and selective of the clothes that I buy nowadays compared to before.

Style is a deeply personal expression of who you are, and every time you dress, you are asserting a part of yourself.” -Nina Garcia

I like to invest in a classic top with good fabric, well fitted and neutral colours. For bottoms, jeans and tailored pants are my key pieces. Sometimes a skirt too depending on which country I am in. And for dresses, since I am in a country that requires modest clothing I abandoned my dresses and replaced it to a jumpsuit in neutral colours as well. Then for shoes, that’s where I play around with colours. So, these are few of my wardrobe essentials for an elegant look and are perfect for combining to create multiple elegant outfits (at least for me).

I am not a fashion expert by any means, that’s how I define my style that makes me feel good when dressing up. We all have different preferences. But you know at the end of the day, what’s more important is beauty comes from the inside and we should all find our inner beauty.
