I SAID YES TO ROSA CLARA: MY WEDDING GOWN

BRIDAL GOWN & SHOES

Hey guys, here comes the start of the wedding season. Since our wedding anniversary is coming, I thought of making a blog about our big day. It is always good to look back at those once in a lifetime moments of our lives. I am going to post into parts, otherwise, it will be very long. In this post, I will be talking about how I found my Rosa Clara Wedding Gown and about the suit of my groom.

First things first, of course, the wedding dress. Finding a wedding dress is a very personal and meaningful choice that should not be taken lightly. My journey of finding my wedding dress was pretty easy, I would say. From the very beginning, even when I did not yet meet my future husband, I knew that I would be wearing a Rosa Clara wedding gown. Walking past the window display of Rosa Clara, Manila, at least once a week, was kind of my stress reliever.

When I did my first fitting, I didn’t have a clear vision of what I wanted. I never planned out what my dress would be like, I didn’t do any research before bridal shopping. I had never been to a wedding before, none of my sisters or close friends had ever gotten married, so I had no one to ask for advice. I just followed my heart about how I felt every time I was trying on the dress.

During my second visit to Rosa Clara boutique, when I passed the dressing room, I saw the exquisite back details of the dress on another bride-to-be. I got excited even without seeing the front details of the dress, yet. I patiently waited and hoping that the other bride-to-be wouldn’t take that dress. When I tried it on, I knew that I was going to say YES to this dress, however, I did not let my emotions win right that moment, but instead, I reserved the dress, and asked if I could come back after a few days and see if I’d still get exactly the same feeling towards the dress. Luckily, it was meant for me.

Never underestimate your gut feelings- that is always my rule of thumb.

I fell in love with this Rosa Clara wedding gown in beaded tulle mermaid-style with sweetheart neckline, beaded sleeves that sensually leave the shoulders bare and sheer low back details.

Shoes– remember that scene in Sex and the City when Big kneels down – in that gigantic, empty penthouse walk-in closet and proposes to Carrie with blue satin and brooch bejeweled Hangisi Manolo Blahnik pump? Ohh! Sex and the City, I still watch this iconic series over and over again. Thanks to my dear friend and to her husband for sponsoring my dream wedding shoes. My shoes matched perfectly to my Rosa Clara wedding gown.

Ultimately, I found that the Hangisi is fabulous and surprisingly super comfortable (mine was 105mm heel size). I wore it for like 8-9 hours without pain, and I just changed in the middle of the reception as I want to keep my shoes in a pristine condition. Now it becomes my perfect statement shoe.

GROOMSMAN SUIT & SHOES

Then for the groom’s suit, as easy as it was for me to find my wedding dress, the opposite thing happened for the groom, but it was manageable! I never thought choosing a wedding suit could be as complicated. Aside from the suit, you also have to choose the accessories that complement the overall look. The same thing goes for the groom as for the bride, choosing his wedding suit is a very personal choice, just like choosing his wife that should not be taken lightly. Haha!

We went for a traditional fancy three-piece suit with the dreamy hues of blue and gold vest & bowtie. The blue suit aside from it was our motif, it was also a perfect balance between traditional and versatile. We got his three-piece suit from Olivier Grant in Toulouse.

Since the shirt can play a supporting role by enhancing the suit and be the centerpiece of the outfit. We went for a white shirt, as it made the color of the suit pop out and gave it a clean and crisp look that matched with my white Rosa Clara wedding gown.

A wedding shirt cannot be without cuffs that are made for cufflinks. Yes, cufflinks are the accessory that completes the wedding look and we opted for classic ones in silver to compliment his suit.

Et voila, to complete his look, we went for brown leather and lace-up shoes from Santander. I had zero knowledge about the groom’s attire, and for a moment, I felt like I became a stylist. With the help of his mom and aunts, I think we did a pretty good job.

At the end of the day, the most important element for any bride and groom is it’s not what you wear but how you wear it. Be yourself and feel beautiful on your big day!

I hope you like this, me sharing our wedding dress/suit and for the soon to be bride/ groom. I hope this gives you a little bit of inspiration for your future wedding.
